Twinbeach Modellers - WEATHER WATCH
Posted by S. Allen at: 3:00pm on June 13 th 2008
It is normal practice to keep an eye on the weather for our sailing day
and 'make the call' if it will not be suitable.
With todays rising petrol prices,I for one am not too keen on wasting it,particularly
as I live at Mt Kuring gai (110 klm rnd trip).
If we decide the night before all are either notified by email or phone.
If the weather is bad on the morning of our sailing day,it's a quick ring around to call it off.
We all know this process but visitors don't,so if you're intending to visit us and the weather
looks or is expected to be a little suspect, please phone me before 8.00 AM.
Additional to the above there can be other factors influencing our attendance,so it is a good idea
to phone me regardless,or send an email to the link below a day or two beforehand.

Twinbeach Modellers - sailing days changed
Posted by S. Allen at: 1:00pm on Jan 29 th 2007
Starting from Feb 2007,the sailing days for the model yachts will change from 1st and 3 rd sundays of each month to the 2 nd and 4 th sundays of each month.
This was brought about by our mates at Sydney A's, sailing now at Penrith, having to switch around to suit the requirements of their new venue.
Also, the sailing calendars for both groups have now been combined into one on the CNLSC site and Twinbeach will be linked to it.
Another project in the pipe is to combine both web sites into one, saving both time and space.

3.00 pm or at least 10 races.
On the Rocks with Twinbeach Modellers 2006 EC 12 SC
Posted by S. Allen at: 10:00am on April 1 st 2006
It cannot be stressed enough that all persons involved with yachting,be it full size
or models, fully understand and appreciate the personal risks involved.
All should also be aware that Public Liabilty Insurance DOES NOT cover the participant,
and that the participant is solely responsible for their own safety.
A strong reminder to all to read our 'SAFETY' section.
It must also be pointed out to officials,at all levels, that all that can be done is to warn
participants of the particular dangers inherent with any sailing site.
Beyond that, nobody has the right to 'prevent' any participant from pursuing an activity
or action that may cause them injury.
During the sunday's race finals, one of the competitors went down over the rocks to recover
his model yacht that had been washed against them during a match race 'final' start countdown.
As we believe, and from a person who was not actually present at the regatta,a complaint
was made about this situation, and a please explain subsequently issued against us??
The RO was apparently expected to actually 'stop' this action ?
Highly questionable, totally out of order, and of nobody's responsibility other than the participant.
Twinbeach Modellers hosting 2006 EC 12 SC
Posted by S. Allen at: 10:00am on Feb 3 rd 2006
CNLSC-Twinbeach Modellers will be hosting the East Coast 12 Metre State Champs
on the weekend of 11 th and 12 th march 2006.
We will be running the regatta on behalf of the EC 12 clubs, using our own personel
for all official duties thus freeing up those members normally involved, enabling them to
compete.
Our normal sailing day on sunday 5 th March is open to all intending participants
who would like some practice at the site to be our guests and share our lake with us.
Unlike the 'last minute' severe parking restrictions placed upon us last year,
which caused enormous problems and discontent,we now enjoy authorised parking on the
grass at the beach under the trees.
Though numbers allowed are restricted,we anticipate an increased allowance for the regatta.
Breakfast,lunch,tea/coffee and soft drinks are available both days.
CNLSC has top time at Parramatta Park.

Chipping Norton Lake Sailing Club and Twinbeach Modellers enjoyed a great day at
Parramatta Park for the Australia Day display.
We had several model yachts there representing 3 classes,A class,EC 12,and the
new Au maxi's.
Also on display was Chris Denman's NS 14.
Our main purpose for being there was to make more people aware of Yachting,
specifically Model Yachting, rather than just trying to get some new members.
There were many thousands of people roaming the park and taking in all the displays
and from the general conversations overhead,we were surprised at just how many were
unaware that Model Yachting even existed.
I'd have to therefore say that our mission was accomplished.
A Web Site for Twinbeach Modellers.

Well, finally got us a Web Site at
last, basic as it is and very much unfinished. There's a
lot of stuff I still need and an awefull lot to learn.
Please report any difficulties to my personal email address shown at the
bottom of this page, or click this link--
EMAIL BUGS NOW --to send me a bug-report.I
also welcome any comments about the site.
Ultimately this site will have as many features and
information sources as time and space will permit, and of
course,my own abilities.
I have a 10 mb limit to this particular web addy but have
a further 4 x 10 mb spots available to link with as required,so I'll
be keeping it as tight as possible.
